The hand consists of 27 bones, that are divided into 3 groups: Carpal bones(trapezium, trapezoid, scaphoid, capitate, lunate, hamate, pisiform) , metacarpal bones ( one for each finger) and phalangeal bones (each finger has 3 phalangeal bones: proximal, medium and distal).
